Secure Environment Activation
Activating Telium Product Licenses In Secure Environments
No External USB Dongle Connection
In deployments which prohibit any removable hardware accessible to end-users, Telium recommends activation using Hardware Fingerprint, Cloud, or Volume License Server (VLS). All three of these activation methods do not require plugging a USB dongle into an external port.
No External USB Dongle Connection, No Internet Access
In deployments which prohibit any removable hardware accessible to end-users, and restrict internet access, Telium recommends activation using Hardware Fingerprint, Cloud, or Volume License Server (VLS). Both of these activation methods do not require plugging a USB dongle into an external port, nor require internet access.
No Physical Computing Platform Communications
In deployments which prohibit any communications with the physical computing platform (e.g. virtualization or containers), Telium recommends activation using Cloud, or Volume License Server (VLS). Neither of these activation methods require communications with the underlying physical computing hardware.
No External USB Dongle Connection, No Internet Access, No Physical Computing Platform Communications
In deployments which prohibit any removable hardware accessible to end-users, and restrict internet access, and restrict physical computing platform communications, Telium recommends activation using Volume License Server (VLS).
Since running the VLS in a virtual machine or container is not possible (as it would require a USB dongle to activate), the client must deploy a dedicated computing platform to run the VLS. Any standard PC is sufficient; as well, Telium offers a turnkey VLS device as pictured below.
No External USB Dongle Connection, No Internet Access, No Physical Computing Platform Communications, No VLS
In deployments which prohibit any removable hardware accessible to end-users, and restrict internet access, and restrict physical computing platform communications, and prohibit the deployment of a virtual of physical VLS, Telium recommends activation using a network USB server. Telium sells and supports selected models, but clients are free to experiment with any available USB server.
No External USB Dongle Connection, No Internet Access, No Physical Computing Platform Communications, No VLS, No Network USB Server
In deployments which prohibit any removable hardware accessible to end-users, and restrict internet access, and restrict physical computing platform communications, and prohibit the deployment of a virtual of physical VLS, and prohibit use of a network USB server, Telium recommends installing an internal USB dongle connected via PCIe card. Telium sells and supports a PCIe based USB dongle card, with full and half-height shields.
