We’ve got your back! When you move away from FreePBX there are many alternatives, in terms of GUI and even in terms of SIP switching engine.
First of all, remember that FreePBX is just a GUI (configuration generator) that sits next to Asterisk. The actual SIP switching engine (Asterisk) will keep working, and in fact there are many other GUI’s that work great with Asterisk. For example: Issabel.
Next, if you are concerned about Asterisk disappearing because they were bought by Sangoma, there are alternatives to Asterisk too. First of all, the open source community will likely fork Asterisk to return it to a true community project. But, you can also move to FreeSWITCH as an alternative SIP switching engine.
In all of the above cases, we are here to support you. You can change Asterisk GUI’s (configuration generators) and HAast will continue to work just fine. If you switch SIP switching engines (to FreeSWITCH) then you can use our HAfs product as an alternative to HAast. We are more than happy to assist you with your changeover, and we will even switch your license from HAast to HAfs at no charge.
